Bring your Valentine as soprano Terese Cullen presents Expression of Love, an afternoon of Love Songs from Puccini and Verdi to Berlin and Gershwin. Ms. Cullen made her European debut at Teatro alla Scala, Milan, singing Marina in Luciano Berio’s World Premier, Outis. With her portrayal of Dorabella in the Cosi Fan Tutte production under internationally acclaimed director, Giorgio Strehler, she became well known to the European critics and the public. She made her Lyric Opera Cleveland debut in Die Fledermaus, performing an “engaging, elegant, silken-voiced Rosalinda.” For the Teatro Regio di Torino (Italy) she “was triumphant in the very demanding role of Jean” in Penderecki’s Devils of Loudon. She made her critically acclaimed debut as Cherubino in Michigan Opera Theatre’s production of The Marriage of Figaro, in which the Detroit News/Free Press praised her performance saying, ”Her Cherubino is a visual and vocal triumph that stays with you long after the final curtain”. While a member of the Lyric Opera Center for American Artists, Ms. Cullen performed Carmen (Bizet), Conception (L’Heure Espagnole), and Dorabella (Cosi Fan Tutte). Main season productions include La Traviata, Das Rheingold, Die Walkure, Electra, Don Quichotte and McTeague (Bolcom). She continues to sing, not only throughout Europe but throughout the world, to critical acclaim. |
